One of the most common reasons people are unable to work on their own vehicles is a lack of space. While the problem can manifest itself in several ways (too much stuff in the garage, live in an apartment, and so on) the heart of the issue is still a lack of available space. Pit Start may provide a new solution to this problem, at least for the people living in or around London.
Pit Start is a new business that provides the everyday person with a well-equipped self-service garage to tinker in. Upon entering the facility, a Pit Start representative will assist you in choosing the proper kind of bay for the work you plan on doing. The majority of the bays simple work areas with a tool bench and a few other necessities, while 6 of them are equipped with a 4 ton lift the larger jobs.
Included in the fee for the bay is access to a myriad of common tools that you might need on your under-hood journey as well as a shop manual if you get lost along the way. The facility also keeps some mechanics handy in case you run into something you can't fix. Pit Start can also arrange to have replacement parts delivered right to your bay in about an hour.
The only limitations to the work you are allowed to accomplish are welding and spray painting, although the latter would seem like a promising business venture for the near future. The company is currently running a promotional sale, offering 50% off bay rental. Pit Start is open 24 hours a day and price for the simple bay is roughly $15, while adding a hoist will cost you about $30.

I-TUNED is a self service garage and was 1st
Submitted on July 13th, 2009 by Anonymous^^^^^^ there is the proof im affraid...... I-Tuned.com was before pitstart and is a self service garage. also I-tuned offer way more services and THEY DONT DO MOT's so where did you get that from?
they have a mechanic there incase you get stuck and need a hand where as pit start dont so you would be stuck while paying for ramp time... or a mobile mechanic which charges min £100 call out the £100 per hour.... OUCH..
you cant work on your fuel systems at pitstart either and no welding there either...
I-Tuned.com you can do anything and everything from an oil change to a full blown drag car.
Damn, I-TUNED IS CHEAP......
