Plug & Play, Lots Of Storage, Clever Name: "CurrenKey"

French designer 5.5 has created a few new international coins! Well, they're not exactly coins, but they are international. They are really coin casings for LaCie's flash drives, and they're very cool.

Is 5.5 launching a new trend by actually putting something useful in a USB port? I don't know, but the CurrenKey is a good start and it's got a short catchy name too!

The special metal casings for the 4 and 8 Gigabyte storage drives are smoothly rounded like coin currency, but they're a bit wider and thicker (1.5" diameter by .3" thickness), so you shouldn't accidentally slip them into a soda machine. The metal coverings hide something else besides memory; the USB plug, which folds into the casing, so the CurrenKey is not exposed to injury by the currency in your pockets.

This is a clever and useful gift. CurrenKey is not available yet in the U.S., but you can get it pretty quickly from 5.5 Designers; just ask nicely! (S'il vous plait?).
