Purify Water On The Go With A SteriPEN

Whether you are traveling or camping there can be a lot of concern about the quality of the water you are drinking and what you might actually be drinking along with it. Whether the concern is for bacteria, viruses, or protozoa you can clean your water quickly and easily with a SteriPEN Ultra Portable Water Purifier. It purifies 16 ounces of SteriPEN Ultra Portable Water PurifierSteriPEN Ultra Portable Water Purifierwater in less than 60 seconds.

The SteriPEN is small enough to stowaway in your luggage, purse or backpack to be with you whether traveling or camping. It uses ultraviolet light rays to purify your water of 99.99% of biological contaminants. This is the same technology that is used by many bottled water manufacturers to prevent water-borne illness. It can be used up to 8,000 times and up to 50 times on a single charge.

The SteriPEN should only be used on clear water. Water that is cloudy from sediment does not purify well because the sediment interferes with the effectiveness of the instrument. Unlike the use of iodine tablets for purification the SteriPEN does not change the clean, clear taste of the water.

To use all you need to do is press the button and place the lamp end into your water and stir while it is working. The purification process takes about 48 seconds and the display will let you know when the water is pure.

To recharge you just plug it into your computer with the included USB cable. An AC adapter and a carrying case are also included. With a weight of 5 ounces it is easy to carry wherever you are going. It also fits most standard water bottles.

A SteriPEN Ultra Portable Water Purifier can even be a handy tool at home if you live in an area with questionable water or after any natural disaster that affects the local water systems. It also makes a great gift for your favorite doomsday prepper.

This little unit has become

This little unit has become quite popular for most who are travelling either abroad, or in the wilderness. But many people using this little water purifier also bring something to filter the water as well. As this system just purifies the water using light, there may still be particles in the water, and they must be removed as well, especially if the water is dirty, as the light needs to be able to pass through the water freely to purifiy, and cannot do this if the water is dirty.
