Robots Gain Glow Skin

Human skin dosen’t light up when you touch it. Though you can get one heck of a reaction out of people if you touch them when they have a sun burn, but if you want real light up skin you are going to have try a robot. A team of researchers at the University of California at Berkeley have created the world first light up robot skin.

The robot works with a simple touch. When the skin is pressed it glows. The system has been dubbed eSkin and it users a series of organic light-emitting diodes to generate the light.

If you’re wondering what the point of a light up robot skin is, you’re not the only one. While the applications for light up robot skin are a novelty and best, and creepy at worst, there are other ways the skin could be used for illuminating walls, or touch screen displays.
