Everyone who has had a newborn baby knows that teaching the little bundle to sleep through the night is just as much a learning curve for the parents as it is for the baby. This is the reason that the Goodnight Sleep Trainer was developed. Knowing that teaching a baby to sleep involves giving them enough time on their own to learn to soothe themselves, but also being there to comfort them when they need it, a pediatrician created the Sleep Trainer to help sleep deprived new parents keep the balance (and hopefully their sanity).
The device allows you to keep track of how long your baby has been crying, how long he/she has been sleeping and also sounds an alarm when it is time to check in on baby. It basically allows parents to slowly increase the amount of self-soothing time each night until the baby learns to settle him/herself down without parent intervention. Of course, it also gives parents the opportunity to see how their child’s sleep patterns are progressing, without having to maintain a complicated chart.
The Sleep Trainer does not seem to offer any complex information, but does simplify a process that can be tedious and frustrating, especially when you are operating on very little sleep.
