SlotFlops, Dance Shoes And Other Unique Footwear For Moms

Mother's Day is on Sunday. Maybe you forgot to get something for your mom or are dreading what may be in store from your kids. Okay, we don't dread those awesome hand-made gifts, breakfast in bed, or scribbles in cards, but moms like to get stuff too. I am not a flowers, chocolate, jewelry kind of mom. I like fun yet functional gifts. And I like shoes. So for those of you looking for something unique to give to Mom on Mother's day, check out these unique pairs of footwear. I'm hoping for the SlotFlop Sandals.

Show Story Fab Strappy Heart Shaped High Heel Bride Wedding Sandal Shoe

What says "I love you" more than shoes with a heart on them? The highest heel I wear is on my sneakers, so if my kids gave these to me, the gift would be their way of saying, "We hope you break your neck." So, if mom needs a chunkier heel, or just wants to feel like Lady Gaga, Show Story has those too.

SlotFlop Sandals

SlotFlop Ventures have created a flip flop that can store cash, keys, and credit cards in a stash compartment inside the sole of the shoe. These are perfect for the beach, a cruise, or backup cash in case the ice cream truck is nearby. The stash compartment also holds the SlotFlop bottle opener and survival tool. The opener is also a knife, ruler, and sun compass. I would love these flip flops, but the only survival tool I would need to go with my bottle opener would be a six-pack of cold beer.

Lawn Aerator Sandals

These sandals are meant to be worn over other shoes while working in the yard. Aerating your lawn improves its health and reduces thatch. Yard work is not just for dads. I love yard work and cannot afford to have a lawn service do this for me. Lawn aerator sandals are a money saver and a good excuse to get out of the house and away from the kids. Wearing sandals with one and a half inch steel spikes is not safe around little fingers and toes. Sorry, kids! Mom needs to aerate the yard again! Alone.

Dance Shoes

Finnish designers Aamu Song and Johan Olin created Company to help keep traditional factories in Germany, South Korea, and Finland alive. They visit manufacturers and design new products that can be made with the existing materials and skill sets available on site. Company came up with these fantastic shoes while visiting a felt factory in Finland. Sadly, Dance Shoes are only available in red--my favorite color is orange. But thankfully, the oldest age a child could fit into the top of these shoes is three years. No one wants a 14-year-old on the tops of their feet. Not even your mom.

Kick off those SlotFlops and dance a little this Sunday, Moms! You deserve it. Happy Mother's Day!
