Stoplight Alarm Clock Lets Your Toddler Know When To Get Up

I have heard tales of toddlers who are great sleepers.  Unfortunately, this has not been my experience thus far.  My daughter wakes up at all different times of the morning – and night.  A couple of times in the summer she was convinced that 4 am was a perfectly acceptable time to get up (no, we don’t live on a farm).  If you can relate to my pain then the Stoplight Alarm Clock may be something to look into.

The clock features a traffic light with the usual red, yellow and green lights, a friendly teddy bear and a digital clock display with an alarm option.  Parents can set the clock so that the red light is on for the entire time that the child should be in bed and have it change to green when it is an appropriate time to get up.  The idea behind the gadget is that, while toddlers usually cannot tell time, they do understand that red means stop and green means go.

I have no idea whether or not this would work with my child, but it may be worth a shot.  It seems like it would be especially helpful in the summer months when it gets bright outside so early in the morning and when the time changes in the spring and fall.  You can get the Stoplight Alarm Clock here.

The fact that kids can tell what these colors mean, I'm quite skeptical about it. But then again, parents should give this cute alarm clock a try.

Worth a try

As I mentioned,  I too am a little skeptical that it would work in my own household, but I think that there are some kids and parents that would benefit from this type of clock.  I think it would be worth a try if you are having these sorts of toddler sleep issues.
