This Tablecloth Takes Your Clutzy Wine Spills In Stride

Debuting at 100% Design in London this week is the clever patterned tablecloth that welcomes spills of any kind, even wine.  Created by Norwegian designer Kristine Bjaadal, the Underfull Tablecloth appears at first like any other tablecloth - beautiful white linen with a floral pattern.  But unlike other tablecloths, when you spill your gravy, your soup, or you drool your chocolate ice cream on it, you will be seen as a poet instead of a slob.

The tag line for Underfull is "The tablecloth that turns spilling into poetry."  And it's an apt tag line, too.

Here are some other beautifully stained Underfull Tablecloths in Bjaadal's collection...

The Underfull takes on new dimensions as fluids spread and dry.

When washed, certain stains (like wine) will remain, but each time you use the Underfull, different stains will make the Underfull more poetic and interesting - an artistic history of memorable dinners.

The Underfull is shortlisted for best new product at 100% Design.  Starting tomorrow, Bjaadal's new tablecloths will be on display at 100% Norway at Stand G40.
