Take Pictures on the Sly with the Polaroid GL20 Camera Glasses

Go gaga (forgive me, I couldn't resist) over Polaroid's GL20 Camera Glasses, which lets you take pictures and view them right on the stylish glasses so you can check out your shots before you decide to print them out.

That's right: Polariod has built a camera into a pair of glasses so you can take photos on the sly without skimping out on photo quality or in style.

So what's Lady Gaga doing here? She's actually the creative director at Polaroid and has collaborated with the multinational company to come up with the Polaroid Grey line which features three innovative gadgets on its lineup: the GL20 Camera Glasses mentioned earlier, the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, and the GL30 Instant Digital Camera.

The GL20 Camera Glasses shoots 12-megapixel photos and can store up to 10 3x4-inch prints in its memory. The glasses features swiveling 1.5-inch OLED LCD screens and has a USB key in the earpiece so you can transfer the image files to your computer for printing or uploading.

The press release on Polaroid's site has this to say about the GL20 Camera Glasses:

  • Merges Fashion With Photography: Never before has the world seen fashion, photography and technology come together in one, singular product.
  • Tells Your Story to the World: Users can instantly capture or upload photos with the built-in camera and then display the images on the glasses' LCD screens for others to see.
  • Expresses True Artistry and Originality: Only Lady Gaga could create a hybrid that's part fashion statement, part revolutionary technology and part tool for self-expression.

The GL20 Glasses will be made available later in 2011 at a price that is yet to be announced.
