Tandem Umbrella: For Clingy Twosomes

Romance is definitely in the air with the Tandem Umbrella. Designed by Jasmine Rasnahan, this umbrella promises to let couple cozy in together while walking in the romantic rain.

It is a great idea, but has a few inherent flaws. What if a couple is mismatched, in the height department? Suppose the guy is a towering 6 feet and over, while the lass is closer to 5 feet? Would pose some serious problems...

Also in today's world, where we sorely lack the charms of companionship, of shared moments, of shared human contact, the umbrella would, I think, put in more distance, and not less. A standard umbrella forces the two people sheltering under it to lean into each other, so while the fresh rain washes the world and all its woes clean, you get to be closer to a friend. The tandem umbrella sadly, takes away this inherent characteristic of an umbrella.

Still it's a great idea, for lovesick couples. You can buy this at Amazon.

...though I'm terrified of umbrellas.

I got one stuck in my hand once.  Not kidding.  ER trip and everything.

Now I put umbrellas in the same mental realm as clowns: scary.

This tandem one would be good in New Orleans though...  Maybe if I feed it some cookies or something, it won't try to eat me...

the

only problems I have had with umbrellas is when there is wind and it turns (inside out?) oh and of course when you drop it 'cause it's windy and you have to chase it and people dont help they only laugh *shrugs* thats life

I can see the benefit...even with a really big umbrella one person always gets wet because the person holding it can't tell if the other person is being covered or not. And clingy or not, even having seperate umbrellas make it really difficult to walk together down a sidewalk or road.

I only go for an umbrella if I'm going somewhere important, otherwise a long raincoat with hood does the job!
