Hey innovators! Do you have what it takes to create a modern-day fable that intricately weaves into a piece of magical, mysterious and fun construction? If you can wow the judges at Blank Space, you could earn some treasure of your own…
Blank Space Project’s “Fairy Tales” contest is an extremely open-ended contest to test out the imaginations of designers, illustrators, story tellers, architects, and other creative folks from around the world. Your challenge is to create a captivating fairy tale, while integrating the legend to the designs of a building of your creation. If you’ve been waiting for a good excuse to go wild with your designs, tell a mesmerizing story and have some fun with your work, “Fairy Tale” is a fantastic way to spread your design wings, while giving yourself a chance to win some cash for your storytelling expertise. ($1,250 for first place, $600 for second, $400 for third, not to mention that the trio and up to ten honorable mentions will be showcased in Blank Space magazine!)
To enter your mystical designs into the running, you’ll need to submit five digital illustrations of the building (ideas include maps, diagrams, pictures, sections, etc.), an enthralling tale (between 750 and 1,500 words long), and a document that details your team’s information. The Fairy Tale contest runs until January 17th, 2014, but you can save on the entry fee if you register by December 6th, 2013. As always, click here for more information, and have fun inventing Mr. Hyde’s summer condo in the Florida Keys, the swamp dragon’s den-turned shopping mall, or the skyscraper made from that one beanstalk that Jack didn’t get around to planting.
