Into the ethereal realm we go with the lastest new lighting from Artemide, called Altrove. From designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua, Altrove can be used as either a decorative wall or ceiling light that utilizes hairpin-thin, transparent wires from which the light flows. The result is an intricate gauzy mesh of soft luminescence that could well have been left by the fairies.
Though this design is certainly captivating, a question that comes to mind is: Would the effect be so dramatic if this light were placed not against a glass pane, but up against a white wall? It seems the background would be of utmost importance in the proper showcasing of this very delicate light source.
