Top 20 Coolest Star Wars Gifts For Christmas: Part 1

We are right around the corner from one of the most anticipated movies in years: Star Wars--The Force Awakens.  As such, the marketing campaign is ramping up to light speed and with Christmas coming up, that means a ton of new toys and merchandise coming to us from a galaxy far, far away.  The variety of items is rather daunting, actually.  In an endeavor to save you, my fine readers, some valuable shopping time, I have picked my favorite 20 items based on either the fun-factor or their unique nature.  So, without further delay, let's take a look at some neat stuff!

Get ready to blow stuff up!Get ready to blow stuff up!

I remember the fun of playing the original Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront II.  The maps were a bit small, but gameplay was really fun.  This reboot of the game sports incredible graphics and larger maps.  Take a look at this sweet game:

If you are a gamer and love Star Wars, Battlefront seems like a no-brainer!

The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

An incredible amount of work goes into designing a film, and The Force Awakens is very heavy with unique vehicles, creatures, costumes, and gadgets.  This book follows the entire process, from design to completion, and provides hundreds of images and detailed text explaining the process.  Well worth checking out!

Death Star Giant Paper Lantern

That's not a moon.  That's a really cool lamp.  And I want one.  This has already been placed on my list to Santa.

This Death Star Paper Lantern is quite large--24 inches around, to be precise.  And it comes with a foot switch to turn on the most powerful station in the galaxy.  Me?  I'd hang it in the corner of my living room and surround it with tiny X-wings and TIE fighters.

U-Command Remote Controlled AT-AT

Trample your enemies! Or ants...Trample your enemies! Or ants...

This is another item on my wish list.  Who doesn't want a fully operational AT-AT Walker?  Okay, maybe its a bit smaller than the lumbering machines in the films, but imagine the fun you can have with your cat with this thing!  Unlike many remote controlled toys, this sucker offers over 1000 movement variations, some of which are pre-programmed.

R2-D2 Bento Lunch Box

Dining in style...Dining in style...

Want to take your lunch with you in style?  If so, this R2-D2 Bento Lunch Box is just the ticket!  This little droid comes with three containers that stack on each other and are secured together by his legs, making for a nice little lunch box for school or work!  The top lid acts as a sandwich cutter (complete with a Death Star imprint) and the whole unit is dishwasher safe!

Sphero BB-8 App Enabled Droid

You see me rollin'...You see me rollin'...

Speaking of droids... BB-8 is all the rage!  The new droid from The Force Awakens, this little guy sports quite a unique movement system that initially is confusing.  A friend of mine and I sat down and drew a diagram to figure it out.  Very neat!  While a bit pricey, this droid looks to offer quite a bit of fun.  Check him out in action:

How neat is that?  Something tells me R2-D2 has some competition in the coolness department!

Uncle Milton--Star Wars Science--Force Levitator

Imagine being able to levitate objects, bring them closer, push them away.  Utilizing static electricity and a control rod, that's exactly what this science-based set will allow you to do.  Though its not The Force, it most certainly would simulate some aspects of it.  Let's just hope there's no Force Lightning involved.  That could get a bit messy.

Where's the Wookiee Search and Find Book

Picture Where's Waldo, but with a giant shaggy Wookiee hiding in plain sight.  Even I want this; its one of those books that you sort of just pass around the family and let everyone have fun.  And the artwork is great!

Millennium Falcon Serving Platter

Hyperspace to deliciousness!Hyperspace to deliciousness!

Look at that.  How could you not want that?  I see a variety of fruit and cheese sitting on top of my favorite hunk of junk ship.  Just make sure there are no mynocks stuck to the hull when using.  They taste... chewy.  Get it?  Chewie!  I'm here all week!  Try the nerf steaks!

Darth Vader Lightsaber Talking Pizza Cutter

Turn to the Dark Side: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, basil, and extra garlic...Turn to the Dark Side: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, basil, and extra garlic...

Okay... it is very safe to say that of the few things I love in life, pizza and Star Wars rank toward the top.  There's a reason I'm divorced.  So, another item on my Santa list is this pizza cutter--shaped like a lightsaber.  And it makes lightsaber sounds as you cut the pizza!  This talks very well to my inner-nerd!  Use this with the Millennium Falcon tray... and a delicious pizza from your place of choice... put in one of the movies... and that's a good time, right there!

This is just the tip of the iceberg!  Check out more cool Star Wars items soon!  (I need a day or so, so check back!).
