A great way to save money and give the love of your life an eco-friendly gift of love this year is to look through your miscellaneous drawer. You know, it is the one in your home filled with miscellaneous items like: found buttons, found game pieces, unmatched earrings, broken jewelry, unidentified keys and so on. Gather a few of these items from the drawer and make a Valentine craft like the innovative one in the picture above.

Contributing editor, Kate Pruitt, features this DIY craft- Kate's Uncommon Valentine- on the blog Design Sponge. Luckily, Kate is kind enough to provide the easy to do instructions for the project in here entry. Anyone can do it and all it takes is some paint, some glue, miscellaneous items and some patients. No, the miscellaneous items don't have to come from a special miscellaneous drawer, but would it not make it a lot easier?

For more information about this DIY project or for step-by-step instructions for the project click here. Keep in mind that with some imagination and inspiration from this idea you can also come up with your own eco-friendly money-saving valentine-art gift for the love of your life.
