TT Tetris Chairs: Great Gifts for Geeks and Gamers

Tetris is one of the most well-known arcade games, dating back to the mid 1980s when it exploded onto the gaming scene. What not many people know is that it was designed by a Russian computer engineer, Aleksei Pazhitnov, who was employed by the Computing Centre of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. The Soviet system ended up on the ash heap of history but Tetris is still going strong today.

Now you can be the first one on your "block" to own an iconic TT chair shaped like classic Tetris game pieces! Even better, own a few so you can organize your own mega-games in the rec room - at least until the lady of the house gets home.

Sold by Japanese novelties retailer Rakuten, the TT chair comes in your choice of 6 different colors and can be positioned in a variety of configurations to suit your needs.

Of course, so much fun doesn't come cheap... you're looking at a hefty 23,800 yen (about $235) for each TT chair and that doesn't include shipping charges to get your order delivered from Japan. But hey - it's Tetris, man!

What's a couple hundred compared to all those quarters you fed into the machines at the local game center way back when. At least now you'll have something to show for your dough. (via Rakuten)
