A new type of vending machine has gotten the attention of federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents.Owner Vincent Mehdizadeh with vending machine: Image: KansasCity.com
Vincent Mehdisadeh, the owner of the Los Angeles Herbal Nutrition Center, created a vending machineto serve his customers who have prescriptions for medial marijuana. The vending machines are now located at three spots throughout the city.
According to Mehdisadeh, the machines can be accessed 24 hours a day. In addition to convenience, they allow someone to attain their medically prescribed marijuana in anonymity.
Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Jose Martinez said the agency wants to know more about the machines. "Once we find out where it's at, we'll look into it and see if they're violating laws," he told The Associated Press.
Mehdisadeh says everything is above board, however. Anyone who is approved to attain medical marijuana who is already registered in the computer database at his dispensaries can buy the drug beforehand and pick it up anytime at the machines.
You can see a video that includes footage of the vending machine and an interview with Vincent Mehdisadeh at Planet Chiropractic.com.
