Since first being introduced, the Volkswagen Polo has been one of the most fuel efficient vehicles on the road. Years of diesel development and improvements to powertrain design have improved the overall efficiency ever more. Power output ranges from 59 horsepower on up to 104 horsepower, with the 71mpg BlueMotion being equipped with a 75 horsepower diesel engine. The other drivetrain variants are expected to all be in the mid 40 mile per gallon range.
The new 3-Door Polo is expected to hit North American shores are early as next year and the current price is listed at around $17,300.

new vw polo
its about time something put the over emphasized prius in its place. its a shitty car to begin with that only old ladies and bitch hippies drive. yay for gas mileage and all but if i gotta look like shit in my car i might as well drive a solar powered golf cart. at least if vw has to make another shit faced auto it is getting decent mpg for the tradeoff in "not" wanting to drive it.

Just pray you don't get into an accident in one! This car getting T-Bone'd by a Ford F-150 will look like a aluminum beer can when a tractor trailer runs it over. SQUISH!!

75hp engine in the 71mpg Polo?
No thanks. With such dearth of horsepower, you are looking at a 0-60 time of 15 seconds or more.
Even the Prius performs better, with a 134hp hybrid drive and a 0-60 time of 10 seconds.
I'm sure the Prius-hater up there would eat his words when he couldn't merge into the highway with that Polo's shit 75hp engine, LOL.
