Want To Celebrate A Really Hairy Christmas? Get Beard Baubles

'Tis the season to be decking the halls with boughs of holly, but it may be time to look at new ways to decorate for the holidays. I'm not talking ugly Christmas sweater parties either. The new thing for men with excessive amounts of facial hair is to be decorating their beards for the holiday with Beard Baubles. Seriously. I'm not kidding.

They are weird, over the top, and ridiculous, but so was the Flower Beard phenomenon from last summer. That trend was started by photographer Pierre Thiot and his Will It Beard project. This time it wasn't Thiot who got the beard ball rolling. This time it was a team from the ad agency Grey London.

They were tasked with coming up with an idea for the company Christmas card. They were asked to come up with something famous or something good --preferably both. So they did. Their idea may have been inspired in part by the campaigns like No-Shave November and Movember to raise awareness for men's health issues.

The sale of Beard Baubles is raising funds for the Australian charity Beard Season. This organization works to raise awareness of melanoma. Down under this time of year is summer and knowing how to reduce your risk of skin cancer is crucial.

Each package of Beard Baubles contains 12 festive ornaments for adorning the beard. They ship from the U.K. to 13 countries including the U.S. Sadly they are currently sold out, but more are coming soon. So you hirsute gentlemen out there may want to start planning ahead for next year.

In the meantime for this year you may need to go back to the Flower Beard concept and deck your beard with boughs of holly.
