Want To Wear A Handy Tool For Small Measurements?

One of the hallmarks of great design is a clever marriage of form and function. This Measure Ring is a blend of a great piece of jewelry with a tailored look and a way to make small measurements. The face of the ring is an inch across and the cut away pieces and sides are the fractions of an inch. With this ring you can measure things easily on the run without having to pull out a tape measure or ruler.

The Measure Ring was created by David Sharp, a designer with a master's degree in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design. He began his interest in building at the tender age of six when his mother helped him turn the scraps from her building projects into toy ships. At the age of 20 he built his own workshop in a clearing behind his parents' house. Now he can often be seen at the Steel Yards in Providence, a community industrial design center, especially digging through their dumpsters for inspirational scraps.

For years many crafts people have done ballpark measuring with hand and finger lengths. This was the inspiration for Sharp to design a tool that is equally as handy, far more precise, and a handsome piece to boot. The ring is made out of stainless for durability and good looks. For women, who may not want to wear something this large on their finger, the ring would also look interesting and unusual strung on a necklace.
