Want Your Water To Do New Tricks? Get A Swirl Tap

When you turn on the faucet in the bathroom water comes out. It is hard to imagine that the water would ever look any different, but one designer did have that much imagination. Simin Qiu, a product designer in London, was able to envision a water faucet that delivers the goods in a cool lattice pattern by swirling the water in two different directions. So he created the Swirl Faucet.

According to Qiu the sink is environmentally friendly and saves water. It flows 15% slower and more gently than traditional faucets. The design also lets the user pre-set the water temperature so that you aren't running the water and always testing the temperature until it is right -- saving even more water. And there are no handles to turn, just the touch of a button.

The lattice pattern of the water, which would be the envy of your friends and family, is created by two internal turbines that spin in different directions. The designer was inspired by the nature of water itself. It is something that can take on so many forms.

Now if Qiu can just get this wonderful faucet out of the design phase and into production. This faucet would be on every bathroom's wish list from pole to pole. I also can't stop thinking of how much fun the cat would have with this kind of water flow. The Swirl Faucet would blow her little kitty mind.
