What could be better than freshly baked cupcakes? How about freshly baked cupcakes that are ready in just five to eight minutes? The new Babycakes Cupcake Maker is here to fulfill those late-night cravings for sugary baked goodness. The device sits on your countertop and comes in soft colors typically associated with cupcakes. When it is closed it looks very much like a sandwich maker or indoor grill, but the inside reveals eight cupcake shaped spots, all ready to be filled with batter and baked.
While it is true that you can just turn on your oven to bake up a batch of cupcakes, the Babycakes does have its advantages. For one thing, you do not have to wait while your oven heats up and then bake for an extended period of time. Secondly, when it is hot outside, sometimes it is nice to refrain from turning on the oven. You can also make just small batches at a time and save yourself from completely overindulging. If you are entertaining and want to serve several different kinds of cupcakes, this unit makes it easy to whip up a few of each. In addition, this device could allow parents the opportunity to do a little baking with the kids, without having to worry about opening a hot oven.
The babycakes also comes with decorating tools and recipes. If you have an enormous sweet-tooth like I do, this gadget, while not a necessity, sounds like a lot of fun. On top of that, it would look adorable on a kitchen countertop. You can buy Babycakes Cupcake Maker here.
Update: Readers have pointed out that the Sunbeam Cupcake Mixer is also a great option for making cupcakes easily.
