Instructables is hoping to award 18 creative inventors with a slew of awesome prizes for demonstrating how to build the greatest Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza gifts of all time. Show off your special holiday themed gifts, décor and snacks for a chance to win 2 second visit from Santa!
All you need to do is to create either a photo or video guide to share your awesome holiday inventions to the internet, and how any Christmas Elf, Gingerbread Person or Flying Reindeer can easily recreate it for themselves. Once you’ve submitted the guide, it’s up to the Instructables community and judges to sort out their favorites. Ho-Ho-Holy cow, are there plenty of cool projects in this contest, including the ultra-creative “Make Hot Cocoa Cone Gift Bags...with your clothes iron!” (I’m a sucker for marshmallows) and the delightfully low tech “‘Loading’ Christmas Card.”
Grand Prize Pile Of Awesome!
Whoever impresses Instructables with the DIY gift sporting the most holiday spirit will get the Grand Prize, which includes a Galaxy Nexus 7 Inch Tablet, Bubble Wrap Suit, pair of Laser Guide Scissors, Steampunk 2014: 16 Months of Neo-Victorian Fashion, Gear, and Art Calendar, London Underground Poster Diary 2014, a copy of Creative Photography Lab: 52 Fun Exercises for Developing Self-Expression with your Camera, a copy of Water Paper Paint: A Creative Card-Painting Kit, and an Instructables prize pack. If you win this one, who cares if you landed on the naughty list, right? Don’t worry if you fall short of the supreme Grand Prize, as three First Prize, five Second Prize and nine Runner Up award packages will go out to the remaining Holiday Heroes.
