This is odd, I didn't know British people love this kind of fights, I will make sure to keep that in mind next time I will watch a soccer match in one of their bars... I guess I had been lucky so far for not witnessing anything like this, but knowing that they use special glasses in case something happens is a bit comforting, its less likely to get seriously injured. I wonder how safe are the bartenders and the bar equipment during these fights though, I really hope they have have enough bodyguards to protect them and the bar's goods.
