Simplify Dicipline With The Time Out Pad

Time Out PadTime Out Pad

If you have a young child you are probably all too familiar with the struggles of discipline.  There is a lot of debate among parents (and grandparents, friends, aunts, uncles, neighbours, etc.) over the best way to discipline children when they get out of hand.  One of the most common methods used these days is the ‘time out’.

I’m sure that most people are familiar with time outs either from personal experience or from watching any number of child rearing shows on television.  In case you do not know, they involve placing your child in a designated spot (usually non-stimulating and away from activity) whenever he/she misbehaves and having the child stay there for a short time until you return.  Unfortunately, many young children have trouble grasping the concept and wind up more frustrated and confused than they were to begin with.

The Time Out Pad is made to help alleviate some of the stress and bewilderment associated with disciplining young children.  It can be used for children aged 2 and up.  The parent sets the timer for the amount of time he/she feels is appropriate (one minute per year of age is recommended) and then places the child on the pad.  If the child gets up before the session is over then an alarm will sound to alert the parent and the child that time is not up.  The timer also pauses until the child gets back on the pad.  Once time out is complete another sound plays to signify that time out is over.

I think there are some days when I could really use this.  What do you think of it? (Buy here)
