According to their website, the iOptik system will require both contact lenses and eyewear frames, onto which media is projected. The contact lenses allow the eye to focus on images that are very close to the eyes. The imagery is projected onto the eyeglass lenses. This article makes it seem like the entire system is comprised simply of a pair of contact lenses, when in actuality it will require the user to wear a HUD (or special eyewear) as well-- so not technically "transparent." Regardless, it's truly amazing!
