Shatner's MyOuterSpace Recruits Talent For Stellar New Social Network

While still pimping hotels at Priceline, collecting Boston Legal residuals and conducting "Raw" interviews on the Biography Network, William Shatner is the quintessential huckster. Not happy to rest on his laurels, and hearkening back to his Star Trek origins, this venerable veteran has set his sights on building his own social network. Worlds Collide: BBC 'SuperPower' Meets ABC 'V' TV Show

Two ethereal female guides offer help for planet earth. Both represent super powers. Both attempt to 'shock 'n awe' us into looking at our lives in different ways. The promos are similar in their 'otherworldly' approach and mood, but the intent is much different. One looks to inform while the other to entertain. Both connect with Barack Obama. While the president is actually featured in SuperPower's promo, the 'V' series has been interpreted as an allegory of the current administration, with its allusions to "change" and "universal health care."

GOP's Re-Invention Of Fear Lacks Creativity

Inventive ideas are supposed to be creatively different from what went before. When one uses fear to try and convince others they have a new idea to share, they're not so much inventing as they are re-inventing. When one is failing, judgement is clouded and folks often fall back on what they know. When fear grips you, it causes your inventive ideas to become emotional rather than logical, and runs the risk of losing credibility.

Pod Hotels Feature Capsules, Cabins, Igloos & iPods

There was a time when travelers sought out spacious hotels for business and leisure. Large guestrooms signified luxury and comfort and the traveling public was willing to spend the higher room rates for connecting rooms, suites and penthouse level accommodations. In fact any hotel room that exceeded 400 square feet in most city hotels was considered roomy.  However, times do change and today we're adjusting to recessionary times by employing cost-cutting measures at work and  when we travel.  "Pod Hotels" is the latest segment of the hospitality industry to emerge as the trend-du-jour to address those needs.

Even though United Airlines donated $3000 to the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz and Taylor Guitars ponied up a couple of replacement guitars, Dave Carroll is following through with his original promise to produce and record three songs dedicated to his now infamous damaged guitar incident. The Almighty Simon Fuller Creates 'Dream' World In Social Media Experiment

There were movies with a similar premise. Similar- but with a twist, 'If I Can Dream' will be the first streaming online video show to be aired on the Internet exclusively, commencing March 2 and will mash-up 'American Idol' with 'The Real World'.

Universal Meditation Could Pay For The Public Option

Yes, there was a time when meditation and yoga were scorned upon as "hippie" or "new age" fads. But over and over again scientific studies have shown that meditation improves everything from heart health to study habits to forgiveness!  Why wouldn't everyone want to learn meditation as a life skill? It  would cut down the cost of medications, hospitalizations, surgeries, therapy needs, medical costs... Heck, everyone would be healthy! And maybe even nicer to each other.

The Chatroulette Genie & 'F9' Are Out Of The Bottle!

If you're like me, Chatroulette could just as well be the name of a French restaurant versus the moniker of a brand new 'interactive video conferencing' ecosystem. However during this morning's normal routine of reviewing my emails and news feeds, I found more than 3 mentions of the "C" word before I had my second sip of coffee.

Your iPhone Is A Prime Target For Wiretapping, Stringer Bell

For anyone that was addicted to the HBO show, 'The Wire' you are probably  already familiar with how law enforcement can wiretap phones. For those who remember the Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping program to obtain information from suspected terrorists, you know how the federal government's policies infringed on privacy rights. But did you also know that our smartphones can become our own worst enemy?

Citibank's 'Don't Bank Don't Tell' Policy Exposed By Fabulis Social Network

In the year 2010, is it possible for a financial institution to close a business account of an organization due to race, creed or sexual preference? Since Citibank has taken this unprecedented step with a gay social network due to what they deemed as  "objectionable content" posted on the new startup fabulis' blog - wouldn't logic indicate they could do the same thing to a church group or a black civics organization?
