The Dutch design team of Bart Eijking and Patrick O’de Louwere of Studio Lawrence are readying for the debut of Dutch Flowers at the 2008 100% Design show in London in two weeks. Dutch Flowers is a series of custom-made,100 percent wool felt, wall tapestries created with a new technology, also developed by Studio Lawrence.
After being wowed by about 40 fan designs created by second year students in the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, it occurred to me why I hide all my room fans when guests come to my home. They're eyesores! They're throwbacks to the 1890's! What are they doing in my post-modern home?
What you never knew you needed or wanted has just pumped itself into a tube and will soon be sitting on a shelf just above the basin in your bathroom.
Dramatic, exhuberant, romantic, firey, eclectic, electric! Dima Loginoff's furniture designs shout volumes about him, his intelligence, spirit, creativity, and fearlessness in his work. Oh, Loginoff says, he has many fears... but they are certainly not about creating.

One of the hallmarks of modern Japanese design is the "Why didn't I think of that?" factor, epitomized in these ultra-cute "Rabbit-kun" plastic bags. With just 3 tiny appliqués, an ordinary trash bag becomes a toney tote - now's the white time to go green!
Just looking at the design for El ZULO, Spanish for "the hideout," makes me sleepy. Instead of putting my head down right here at my desk and catching a few zzz's before my stiff neck and back cry "Oooh, that hurts!," I imagine myself mustering just enough energy to get up, move a few feet away from my desk, and assume a similar, but ergonomic, position in this peaceful, padded, perfectly positioned chair pod for my power nap.
Light is in for the upcoming 100% Design Show in London. Light as in lighting, but not necessarily as in lamps. Light for surprise, light for illusion, light for dimension, light for fun, effect, maybe even for utility, as to enable better sight. Whatever light is for, it's in and it's exciting!

There isn't much too say about this next green innovator, Designer Gerard Brion, except that he is passionate about his artwork. He is very passionate. In fact, with regular household items, some glue and paint Gerard Brion has spent 15 years of his life creating a detailed replica of Paris.
