New Judges and Host for American Inventor Season Two ( 2007) Announced

For 2007, according to the Associated Press , George Foreman will be a Judge on `American Inventor'. The "boxing great, ordained minister and grilling guru George Foreman just added another job to his resume: reality-TV judge. "

Foreman will be joined by former NBA executive Pat Croce, British businessman Peter Jones and undergarments entrepreneur Sara Blakely, creator of Spanx. The show's new host is Nick Smith.

You can read more about Pat Croce here .

Peter Jones is a judge from Season One, and a producer of American Inventor.

Sara Blakely is the inventor of Spanx (footless pantyhose and body gridles). She has been a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2002 and Gerogia's Woman of the Year. Her inventor story is at her website .

The host Nick Smith joined ABC in February 2007, and contributes to both The View from the Bay and the ABC 7 News team. Nick is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley.

Prior to ABC 7, Nick anchored a local morning news program in Philadelphia, and provided live coverage of special interest stories in his own segment, "Nick in the Neighborhood." Appropriately, Nick has been a live reporter for the Army/Navy game, traditionally held in Philadelphia. He has also worked as a reporter for E! Entertainment Television, and his live reporting has appeared on the FOX News Channel, the Weather Channel, World News Now, Live! With Regis and Kelly, and World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.

I think Foreman's name alone

I think Foreman's name alone just boosted the shows ratings. Now let's see if they can come up with a great product that we can actually purchase.

Bottle Sling - Invention Gallery .

George Foreman Tactic

Instead of being drilled and given the Third Degree, now the contestants have to worry about being grilled.

They might as well have george forman, the rest of the inventors on the show are fake. The show is based on people thinking they have an invention, no people get picked that have patents .

Replacement Judge Proposal

I just KNOW that Sharon Osbourne is going to be a good judge on "America's Got Talent" (since the highly talented Jack made the perfect police officer!).  Therefore, I think Oddzy would be an excellent judge on the "American Inventor" show.  Unlike the other judges (or anyone else, for that matter), Oddzy would be able to "see" things in the inventions that the others simply can't/don't see.  Had Oddzy been a judge last season, even the "Beetle Utopia" would have been "out of this world" and totally awesome.

The show would have to be expanded to two hours to allow Oddzy enough time to respond to any external stimuli, but the producers could show flashbacks of last season's wonderful inventions like the "Therapy Buddy", "Knaughty Knot",  piss sack, etc. to help fill the gaps.

Instead of Oddzy saying something lame like, "Put that on a shelf and I'll buy it", he'd really drill the contestants by asking deeper questions--such as, "What shelf?"

After witnessing the impulsive, undisciplined Sharon walk off the stage and threaten to quit on her first day as Judge on "America's Got Talent", Simon isn't taking any chances with the "American Inventor" show judges.  Fearing that Mr. Nice Guy George may "pull a Sharon" when Peter berates elementary school students showing their pathetic inventions, there will be a substitute Judge on the set.  Alec Baldwin, like Peter, will have no mercy on the youngest, most impressionable contestants and vows to "tell them like it is."

During a cell phone interview, Alec stated, 'If the invention sucks, I'll just tell the whiny little pig bitch that she is rude and has no talent and that this will be the last time she embarrasses her family.  Like Peter, I am sick and tired of people--especially little kids--who have no respect for the invention process and think they can insult celebrity judges on national television."

There are unconfirmed reports that Simon and Peter are debating what to do about judges on other shows who want to present their inventions on the "American Inventor" show.  Sharon Osbourne's invention of reusable disposable eyelashes isn't overly-impressive, but David Hasselhoff's vision of a "Hamburger Holder" has them intrigued.  Realizing that this would have mass appeal to the numerous drug and alcohol abusers out there, this innovative plastic product would clearly surpass the bathroom doorclip's appeal and could easily win the $1 million prize.

Fast-food chains have already expressed their interest in endorsing the product.  The "McHelper", "No-WHOOPS Whoppers", and "Jack-Out-Of-The-Box Handler" are possible names being entertained, but Wendy's thinks it should have creative control and wants to call it what it is:  The "Hamburger Helper".  Of course, Betty Crocker officials have already protested and threatened to sue, claiming that "Hamburger Helper" was an American Idol long before David Hasselhoff.

The conflict doesn't end there.  Simon is highly concerned that George will be extremely prejudiced toward any hamburger-related product and will not deem any other inventions as worthy.  This may be a more serious concern than Doug's fetish with plastic products (especially bathroom-related ones) last year.

get with it

Simon is not worried about Sharon Osbourne whatsoever. He has had her on his UK show the X Factor as a judge for three years and all other celebrity shows for charity.  He loves the ratings like anyone else.  She cut up a few UK celebs like James Hewitt and Rebecca Loos with very rude, hostile comments and he knew it was getting people to watch.
