Judges Changing! - AmericanInventorSpot.com Exclusive

Hi All:

I hope everyone is looking forward to the upcoming auditions for the American Inventor reality television show which start in February/March 2007.

I heard some news that is a shocker. My sources are telling me that ALL of the judges from Season One have been told they will not be a part of Season Two! You heard right, none of the four judges will be coming back. Instead, the show's producers will be planning to have a panel of celebrity judges.

My sympathies with the judges who were let go as I know they took their jobs seriously and were an invaluable resource for all the contestants . I thought they all did a great job and I know that they will be missed on Season Two.

I have not been able to triple confirm this but the news is so hot, I thought you would forgive me later if I heard it wrong. I got it from credible sources but I have not heard it from enough sources yet. We are also concerned about the idea of "celebrity judges". I will try to get some more info on what types of judges they are looking at as "celebrities" and share that with you.

UPDATE:

NEW SOURCES ARE SAYING THAT IT'S NOT ALL FOUR JUDGES. PETER JONES, A PRODUCER ON THE SHOW, WILL BE BACK FOR SEASON TWO.

UPDATE 2:

I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO SPEAK WITH JUDGES FROM THE SHOW. THE FACT WAS THAT THE JUDGES WERE NOT FIRED. THEY WERE PART OF A DISCUSSION OF THE FUTURE DIRECTION OF THE SHOW. IN THOSE DISCUSSIONS, THE JUDGES DECIDED THAT THE SHOW NEEDED TO GO IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION AND A MUTUAL DECISION WAS MADE THAT THE JUDGES SHOULD NOT RETURN FOR THE SECOND SEASON. THE ORIGINAL JUDGES THOUGHT THAT WITH THE NEW DIRECTION FOR THE SHOW WOULD SERVE INVENTORS BETTER AND WOULD ALSO CREATE A BETTER OVERALL SHOW FOR VIEWERS.

If you have not read my Exclusive News About Season Two of the American Inventor TV Show, make sure to check it out.

Please make sure to come visit our Forums to talk about the auditions and get the latest gossip about the show.

In our Forums, you will be able to join discussions of practically everyone who is planning to audition for Season Two, share your thoughts on how auditions are going and get the scoop on when people auditioning have started getting call backs for another round of auditions. Also, a number of finalists from Season One, have told AmericanInventorSpot.com that they will be checking in on our Forums to give future candidates lots of advice and tips. Of course, I will be here too.

Finally, be sure to check out my website at thepitchcoach.com. Danard and I will be looking forward to helping anyone who is interested in auditioning for Season Two.

I don't think this is good

I don't think this is good news. The Season One judges were in the business of analyzing products --- what are these celebrity judges going to offer? Are they really going to be able to choose the next American Inventor. I sure hope so for our inventors sake.

PETER JONES IS COMING BACK

YES.. Michelle...

Peter just emailed me that they are making changes to SEASON TWO AMERICAN INVENTOR.. but since he owns the show... he will be coming back as a JUDGE for certain! They will be releasing the accurate info. to the press very soon..please hang in there and don't rely on rumors!

ALSO..I am very sorry that MARYLOU, DOUG and ED will not be joining the second season. THEY WERE WHAT MADE THE SHOW what it is today..... a success. I am sure the new format and adding some higher profile judges... will make the show worth watching, however.

I can't wait to launch my autobiography BALD IS BEAUTIFUL MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING... an AMERICAN INVENTOR TOP FINALIST'S STORY! I will launch my book with the beginning of season Two. Lot's of BEHIND THE SCENES INFO on the set of AMERICAN INVENTOR for TWO MONTHS.. is in the book... A MUST READ FOR ALL~! I will keep in touch.

Thanks for keeping MARYLOU, DOUG and ED in your thoughts and prayers!

GOD BLESS!

Doug Hall

Doug is a successful inventor. I hope they can find at least two too replace him. He didn't vote for the "Word Ace" but no ohter company did before AI. Milton Bradley accepted it only because of the T.V. PR.

Doug Hall is an inventor and

Doug Hall is an inventor and I hope they will replace him with one. He did't like the word ace, but no other company did before AI. MB doesn't accept inventions outside their company, but will take the free T.V. PR.

Re:

Fired huh?
Yo Erik i've tried to get in contact with you and your partner Denard Bailey at DanardJ@aol.com by his cell phone and also by your e-mail at trn313grd@sbcglobal.net I'm trying to collect on the $500.00 before Christmas so I can get my neice and nephew someting. This is of course for the www.thepitchcoach.com website I did. I sent in the contract last month and I haven't heard back from you or Denard Bailey. I have also sent a paypal request to Denard. I think this may be because your friend Denard wanted to coat tail another site on to the contract but that wasn't the agreement we had. That's like ABC saying out of the blue they want two years exclusive rights to your invention. I don't know what's going on but it wouild be really cool if you or Denard could get back to me asap.

What's poppin Michelle? How you enjoyed the Christmas gift.

Kept the show together!

Doug Hall didn't like all the sob stories. He often teased Boo Hoo Mary Lou about it. Also, when Peter threw the 76 year old lady's chucks on the floor, Doug stabilized the situation over by giving Peter an avenue of reversal in a disturbing situation! Doug also favored inventions that actually solved a problem. This is the mother of inventions- to bear a child of necessity!

Change in Judges

A change is not necessarily good: the new judges COULD be worse! I didn't see anything wrong witht he original three since they made an interesting contrast. I suppose Doug just didn't meet the dress code requirement and Mary Lou probably is out of tears....therefore, Peter is the only "survivor". Let's see if there is a non-White judge this time! (I just hope they don't go to extremes like Hollywood Squares and get someone like Kermit the Frog.)

New Judges? Celebrities?

ABC wants to attract more viewers...so they are willing to use celebrities for judges?! I don't know if this is good for AI, but at least it'll be good for T.V. Good luck to all who audition, speaking from my experience, the odds are pretty slim. Reality: don't count on a TV show to get your invention out there...the show did help me with initial exposure, but exposure alone is not going to generate sales...be motivated, and learn about marketing and business.

They need to get Simon Cowell! He should be done with American Idol by June anyway!

Peter was the only one against the ANECIA

The Anecia was too "iffy" to move to the next round according to Peter and he was right. All the bugs hadn't been solved and evidently are still a problem in Evenflows R&D. The main non-seller is the spinning motion the baby has to endure. I do however have a suggestion Go to www.BRIGADEQM.com and look up # YRL01 Safety retention lanyard. I believe if a similiar device was attached to the botom center area (where the babys buttocks is positioned) and the other end attached to the inner base this will keep the sphere from spinning all the way around and also absorb the jolt (shock). This cord streches about six inches. It is used to hold in soldiers when the helicopter door is open. This cord attachment will work on all four sides as designed in the Anecia.

Eric, get back to me.

What's up Eric? Have you heard anything new on the audition dates? When are you coming to NEw York, Give me a call. Another Thing, it kind of sucks that they are not coming back, but I think I know why they would need more popular people judging. Think about it, Imagine Simon Cowell will be a judge, do you know how much ratings that would give to the show? That's all they care about, even though simon doesn't know anything about innventions.

Cisco.

I was a Chicago contestant

Hi Erik!

I wanted to let you know, I truly enjoyed meeting you in Chicago. You are so sweet. Thank you for asking me to have my picture taken with you. Erik, I have to be honest. I never had a clue, that the show in itself, was going to be so nerve racking. I BLEW IT..BIG TIME!! Now that I am home, I keep kicking myself for saying all the wrong things in front of the judges. George Forman was an absolute teddy bear, he made me more comfortable standing up there than the rest of the judges, he liked my idea and gave me a YES !. That was my only and last shot at making something of my life. I said things up there, but did'nt clarify my statements, but when you only have so little time, it was'nt possible. I pitched my safety bike tire, It will save lives of children while riding they're bikes when it gets dark outside and real early in the mornings. IT can be made, they said it was impossible. with all of technology out there, anything can be made.We need this out there , children are being killed, and the first thing out of the motorist mouth is, they did'nt see them in time... I was so nervous, I broke down and bawled my eyes out like a baby. I am so embarassed about that, and I hope they will cut that out of the show, which they probably wont, it'll be aired and once again, the embarassment will start all over again. Had I had known before hand you had this site, which I was oblivious to, maybe it would've helped me better, who knows. If I had only known you help out inventors, I could've waited another season, and done it right. I just believe in my idea so much, and wanted to save children. My invention is called the Light Rider Tire, I'm sure you'll tune in to the show, and see it. and you will see how I blew it. My future is very grim for that idea now. Once again, It was very nice meeting you, and I'm happy for you and your success..God Bless! Mary
