Marketing means basically everything you need to do to promote and sell your product or other invention.

Marketing principles often mention the 4 P's of marketing:
1) identification, selection and development of a product,
2) determination of the price,
3) selecting the approrpiate distribution channels to get the product to the customer, and
4) developing anc acting upon the promotion strategy.
