1) identification, selection and development of a product,
2) determination of the price,
3) selecting the approrpiate distribution channels to get the product to the customer, and
4) developing anc acting upon the promotion strategy.

In order to find a good marketing advisor or partner for your product, get familiar with the basic concepts of marketing and then go and see how you can leverage off the expertise of others either by hiring experts or learning from there.
