The Performance Water Cycle

Summer is fast approaching, which means less clothes and more fun in the sun. It also means water-sports will be on the rise. This summer, instead of the same old H2O based gadgets, give the new Performance Water Cycle a try.

This single-seat watercraft combines the ease of use and comfort of a recumbent bicycle with the stability of an open hulled kayak. Depending on the operator, experiences can range from a nice easy ride around the lake to an advanced workout with some beautiful scenery.

The pedals operate an 8 to 1 gearing system that turns a pair of 15" propeller blades. The average person can reach a top speed of about 8 miles per hour, which is roughly the speed of an Olympic swimmer. The Water Cycle is safe to use in waves of up to 3 feet and the frame will detach from the hull for easy transport. The seat and handlebars are fully adjustable to achieve maximum comfort and optimum pedaling position.

The current price is $2,999.95 plus however much it costs to ship the 75lb craft.

Water cycle?

It's hard enough to cycle with two sets of pedals through water. Next to impossible for the average fit person to use this, I would think.
