Giant Ice Pack for your Child's Seat - HotSpotMama Find
When its hot and humid and hitting record highs, what's the first thing you think of? Finding something to cool you down. A nice body sized ice pack sounds good.
Well dealing with the heat is much worse when you have young kids with you. On a hot summer day, you know you're going to hear whinning. Especially when you put the kids into a car. Its almost always 10 degrees hotter in the car. It would be great for their car seats to be nice and cool when they get into it. My prayers have been answered by a company called Kooler Kidz.
Kooler Kidz has done it. They made a great product that looks like it would make life easier: the Seat Chiller. Essentially, it is a giant ice pack that you place on your child's car seat before your child gets in it. First, you freeze the Seat Chiller in your freezer. Second, you unroll it and put it on your child's seat. Third, remove the Seat Chiller right before you put your child in the seat. Ahh. A nice cool seat.
The Seat Chiller sells for $39.99. It comes in sapphire blue, grape purple and mint green.
It seems like a great product. My problem is the price. The company recommends that you buy two Seat Chillers so one is always ready to go. That's $80. And I have two kids so I would have to buy at least four of them. That's $160. That seems like a pretty high price tag to minimize some whinning. If I still lived in Phoenix, Arizona, I think I would go buy it in a second but I don't think I would be willing to spend the money living in the Northeast (although today I reconsidered it).
If anyone has tried it, please send me some feedback on this product. It seems like a great idea. Just a pricey one.
