Cute Rabbit Trash Bag - It's White to go Green!
One of the hallmarks of modern Japanese design is the "Why didn't I think of that?" factor, epitomized in these ultra-cute "Rabbit-kun" plastic bags. With just 3 tiny appliqués, an ordinary trash bag becomes a toney tote - now's the white time to go green!!
Some say everything in Japan is either cute or has been made to BE cute. These ingenious trash bags fall into the latter category. Designed by creative firm MAQ, Inc., the bags are called Rabbit-kun which roughly translates to "Dear Mr. Rabbit".
Another fascinating feature of Japanese design is the way something new and exciting can be crafted using an ultra-economical, minimalist approach. Take the Rabbit-kun bags. The basic plastic bag remains unchanged but by simply adding 2 pink dots and an X below them, something outwardly obvious yet surprisingly original emerges!
Should these Bunny Bags (as opposed to Doggy Bags) take off in popularity, the ways people use plastic bags will shift in a number of positive directions: bags will be trashed less often and the negative connotations of carrying around a cheesy plastic bag will be reduced. Plus, of course, Japan will become slightly cuter... as if that's possible. (via Pink Tentacle, images c/o MAQ, Inc.)
