12 Hot Gifts For Boomers, Seniors, & Maybe YOU This Christmas
Goodies and gadgets for the later-aged this Christmas... We have twelve, one for each day of Christmas and you can take your pick of your favorite 8 for Hanukkah gifts. You'll have to judge which are the best for your boomer and senior relatives; we don't all age gracefully.
We'll start with something that's definitely timely...
1. Icetrax Pro "Walking Chains"
Walking on snow and ice? Put chains on your feet!
As we get older, our balance gets shakier and our bones more brittle. These are not necessarily symptoms of disease; they just happen. Seniors, especially, need to careful about falls, because the older you are the longer your bones take to heal. The Icetrax Pro set uses a proprietary SkidLock™ coil system to grip the ice and snow as you walk, providing stability. They just slide over your shoes. (Update: This item is no longer available. Perhaps this well reviewed ice walker would be be a good alternative.)
2. Neck & Shoulder Compression Massager
This massage device works by compressing air in and out of 12 air bladders along the neck, the sides of the head and under the shoulders to stimulate circulation, relieve soreness, and loosen muscles. The bladders are integrated into a 10" thick air pillow which moves with the massaging bladders. The Compression Massager can be tethered to a chair or you can lie on it. The remote control allows you to focus in one area or another and program the massager. (Update: This massager is no longer available. But this inexpensive massager gets good reviews and is very simple to use. If you are looking for heat, this neck and shoulder heat wrap looks amazing.)

I don't want to rush things but when I do get to the stage when I need a walker (or 'rollator'), I want to get one with an attachable TV tray on it like this Indoor Rollator. Other features are that the adjustable Rollator is very sleek and very adept at getting around corners. It folds up, and it has a detachable carry bag.(Udate: This walker is sold out. This one is my dream gift; with the amount of time I spend on the computer, the Treadmill Desk, also from Hammacher Schlemmer, is the only way I'm going to get fit. Is it something like walking and chewing gum at the same time? No, I think it's a bit harder... but it's a nice desk, and it's definitely worth your life to try it. (Treadmill not included.) (Update: This item is no longer available but this other treadmill desk gets rave reviews and is worthy of considering. So is this much cheaper desktop for the treadmill.))

The Snore Relief Wrist Band is not for sleep apnea patients and it may not be used with a pacemaker.
12. Identity Theft Prevention Stamps
Identities aren't just stolen from the Internet. All that printed, uninvited, mail we receive every day has our personal information on it.
