Petollar: An Ingenious Device To Minimize Pet Allergens In The Home
A university student from Thailand, Mr. Thanut Chaovakul, has made it into the semi-finalist round of the Electrolux Design Lab 2014, with his ingenious concept to remove pet allergens from the air, thereby making more petless folks into pet owners. Allergies to dog and cat fur are among the most common, but Chaovakul has designed an eletrostatic air cleaner that follows your pet around and picks up his fur and dander. Amazing!
The Petollar air cleaner sits on the floor and smartly follows your pet precisely by locking into the sensor on your pet's special collar. The sensor is charged with negative ions which can spread 2 to 3 meters. The positively charged cleaner grabs the dust and fur in the air and pockets it in its container to be removed at a later time. The air cleaner is capable of rotating 360° around and up to 110° skyward, for when your pets are on your furniture or on their perches.
The Petollar system is turned on and off at the collar or from the air purifying unit.
Electrolux Design Lab is now in its 12th year. Each year the company has provided inspiration for students throughout the world to contribute to the future through their creative designs. This year's theme was the future of the home, specifically making it more comfortable through culinary enjoyment, fabric care, and air purification.
Best of luck to Petollar and the other 34 semi-finalists in this event.
