American Inventor Episode 108 and Episode 109 Airs Thursday, May 4, 2006 - TWO HOURS 8:00 - 10:00 PM

If you've seen episode 106 or 107, then you know the drill by now. One of the four judges on American Inventor mentors three of the semi-finalists. From 8:00-9:00 p.m (episode 108), Peter Jones’ group of inventors includes: Jodi Pliszka, 39, a healthcare case manager, a wife and mother of a nine-year old daughter from Muskego, WI. Jodi suffers from Alopecia, a medical condition that caused her to lose all of her hair. Her invention is the Headliner, a lightweight disposable liner that is worn underneath wigs, hats or helmets, providing comfort and protection from perspiration and oils. Ed Hall, 40, a former elementary and high school teacher and coach who lives in Chicago, IL. His invention is the Word Ace, an electronic table-top game for 1-6 players that teaches children spelling and vocabulary skills in a fun, interactive way. Robert Amore, 46, a youth hockey coach and lives in New York City. His invention is the Tonerbelt, a fitness belt featuring two handles on retractable cords. The belt is worn around the waist, and the user pulls on the cords for resistance training, which provides a cardio workout and builds strength. From 9:00-10:01 p.m. (episode 109), Doug Hall’s group of inventors includes: Sharon Clemens, 63, a retired sales associate and lives in Huntington Beach, CA. Her invention is the Restroom Door Clip, a small plastic clip that attaches to the top of a restroom stall to hold the door closed when the stall latch is broken. Joseph and Jennifer Safuto, 47 and 32, who share their Los Angeles, CA home with Joe’s 12 year-old twin daughters. Joe is a performing magician, comedian and singer and Jenny is a makeup artist. Their invention is the Flushpure, a new kind of toilet seat lid that filters out bacteria and other harmful particles that normally escape when you flush the toilet. Janusz Liberkowski, 52, a mechanical engineer in San Jose, CA. He and his wife are parents to twins. Their older daughter passed away in a car accident seven years ago, which inspired Janusz to create the Spherical Safety Seat, a new kind of infant car seat where the baby sits inside nested spheres, hopefully saving children’s lives in an auto collision. Thursday, May 11th, there is a recap of the final four inventors with their products. If it works the same as American Idol, after the episode ends, America calls in to vote for their favorite inventor/invention. Thursday, May 18th is the season finale. We finally find out who wins the title American Inventor. Hope everyone will join me watching the new episodes on Thursday night.

If two inventions in the top

If two inventions in the top 12 that didn't make it that the judges feel were the next two for 6 finalists instead of 4 to be voted on, would make it fairer.

LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD & REQUEST FOR ANOTHER SEASON OF " AI "

TOPIC: RAISING OUR VOICES IN ORDER FOR A SECOND SEASON OF AI.

I don't know about each an everyone of you inventor out there but for me a show such as AI is the best thing ever happened since sliced-bread. Because such a show is where us individual inventor get noticed and our ideas get protected and exposure in the event that big companies decided to steal our ideas, we will get support.

We all need to do our part by contributing our voices to the show even though ABC is not doing a dame good job advertising the show either on paper or on the internet. My suggestion is each one of us send email directly to Doug Hall and ABC producers letting them know what not only we enjoy the show but to let them know that with a little bit more exposure on the Internet getting their viewers aware of the upcoming show could yield a higher audiance each Thursday.

Also, had we got plenty of notice by ABC spending some money on advertising, I am sure there will be more real inventors that have real ideas that can change the world instead of the 12 right now where I am not too excited about jumping out of my seat and wait for it to come out to market so that I can buy.

My plan is to write my letter requesting that they should have at least one more season to try it out now that the viewers are aware of the show and the real good inventors with great inventions will show up to audition for the next show. Having such a show will be the only way for us to keep the momentum going if each one of us feel that we are indeed the inventor.

I know the person that makes the decision for ABC her name is something Wang, I don't have her email address so if someone has it please forward the email over so we all can email to her requesting for a second season. I am sure everyone knows Doug Hall email address by now so please email to him so that he can pass the message onto Peter Jones as they are best friends.

Our voices mean something to ABC and their producers. Let make our voices count, one viewer at a time.
