Did I read this correctly? They state not to present any samples (prototypes) if you are not willing to get them back! They will become the property of QVC. I would only agree to this if I was the top 10, but not just to present it and then loose my very expensive $$$prototypes!

I have the same concern. How do we resolve this problem? I have an invention that I would like to enter but do not want to give QVC control of it. I have e-mailed Oraph's people and sent a letter to her legal department without any response. Time is running out! And I would like to enter this contest. Have you found any answers?

You coould make a video and state that you will ship the invention to them if  they have considerable interest in it.

I have a prototype and an idea but its not patented yet and Im a little confused... must our ideas be patented  ti be eligible for this contest? any ideas?

 It would be recommended that you draw your idea in black ink and include numbers on items of it and on another sheet of paper descibe the numbers. Then get a provisional patent application at uspto.com and send it with  $100 to the p&to. This will give you patent pending for a year.

I got a confirmation back stating for the "above concerned" that QVC will not keep your samples.

I recently submitted the Neanderthal Feather Walker character and this was turned down as a future contest entry.  My comment is everybody should want this character that has universal appeal, environmentally sound, historical, clean for good hearted children.  You can take a peak at www.happytimesforkids.com and judge for yourself.  I think that people do not know what they are really looking at and if they did they should all want something like this.

Dear Ms. Ophra,
I was diagnosed with advanced HIV/AIDS in Aug 1985. It has been a long journey of fighting for a life that I love, and have tried to be a role model for others facing this terrifying disease. I have lost my friends, and being a sole survivor, I feel God has kept me for a reason, this reason is larger than myself, and I need help and direction from someone like Oprah to bring this subject into dinner table subjects so that we as a Nation can begin to grow and help our sick, elderly, and disabled that our government is failing at doing anything to fight poverty here at home. I have written to many organizations, The Gates Foundation only gives funds outside the U.S. I ask, how can we begin to save the world if we do not address and help those here at home in our own backyards first, and then taking on the world. I am a veteran, I have paid taxes, and yet my SSDI payment each month is $803.00 per month...this is living at poverty. I do not have enough funds for food, clothing, a decent car to get to Doctor and Lab appointments which are necessary in my continuing medical treatment. APLA, and other organizations have denied me access to their non-profit funds, because I could no longer afford the high rents of Los Angeles County, and have been forced to move to Frazier Park in Kern County for lower cost of living, and still be within a 2 hour drive to my doctors. There is no HIV/AIDS care in Bakersfield, to prompt me to change my doctor who has cared for me since the begining. I receive medi-cal which pays for my doctor visits and labs of about $5,000.00 each month. But I have no money for day to day living, food, clothing, gas, or a good car to get to doctors and labs. I need a dentist desparately, and there are no doctors who want to take medical insurance, or I am limited to silver teeth, not able to have natural teeth which will help build my self esteme. As a veteran, paid my taxes, I am appaulded by the fact that I am living in poverty levels off my Social Security. I have given a lot in volunteer work also, to be left behind. This at a time I witness on DAn Rather Reports that farm subsizdidies, farmers receive automatic payments of 1/4 million payments when they do not even need them because they are getting great prices for their crops, beans and corn.
I like JohN Ecwards because he focused on the poor and ending poverty in this country...I think my mission that God has laid out for me, is to create a non-profit developing company to build, apts, condos, homes that will be recycled for those who have lost the dream of home ownership. We can build these complexes, with gyms, clinics, recreation, offer the housing at minimum cost, so their SSDI payments can pay for meds, labs, doctor visits, clothing, food, and a good car we as americans take for grated. I beleive I have a great vision that could help many people nation wide, even world wide.
Its finding the land, developers, and important people who believe in this project to make it come true. First, I need someone like Oprah, to introduce me and my idea, so that I can beging a philanthropy fund, a non-profit organization to help those who have been forced out of the work place and have lost the dream of home ownership. I Know this is the journey has been set down for me by God...It is such a large endeavor, I need help from thos who can direct me to the right people and make this dream come true. I will pray that you will like my vision, and will give me the opportunity to meet MS. Oprah and give her an indepth look into my dream and vision. I come from very humble beginings, and this is my way to make a contribution for those who need a home, living out thier lives with dignity, without fear of homelessness, and heartache that our government and leaders are failing to give and survive. The millions going into the farm subszidies is one examplel that needs to me looked at an changed....there are many other wasteful program the government is spending millions of dollors on giving away millions to those who do not need this money, as farmers are having a great year...lets give some to the poor who have believed in America, fought for America, pay taxes, and deserve much more than $800.00 each month, I would like to see some of these senators live on this income level for a few months. Until people are walking in the shoes of those who are struggling, how will they ever truely know what our needs are? This must change, it must change now. I have a great plan, program to help those of us in this dreadful situaltion, and I know I can make a difference in many lives. Recycable homes, homes that are never sold for profit, and go to another family in need when one becomes unoccupied. The government most likely has/have manly buildings for people who defaulted on taxes that could give these office buildings donatied to this cause to have them conversion into homes for the disabled, sick, terminal disease. They can bring in jobs, for pharmacies, and clinics on sight, recreation, and golf courses, and many other things to get people active and living again.
Please take a serious look at my idea, help me make my drean a reality, I have many drawing I have done, and research I would like to share.

If Oprah could help with some financial problems to launch my invention I would be more than willing to donate 20% of all proceeds until their are no more puppy mills.After that then I would like to donate to the ASPCA and PAWS.
