This Gecko-Like Robot May One Day Crawl Over The Hulls Of Spacecraft

One enduring trend in the world of robotics is for researchers to base their designs on real-world creatures. The six-legged Abigaille - based on a real-world gecko- is no exception. Designed by Canadian researchers, it may one day operate on the hulls of spacecraft for maintenance and repair.

Is The GIG Up For Internet Speed?

While Gigabyte broadband might still be on the drawing boards for many of our major telecom companies, Sprint is tackling high-speed mobile while Google is making its mark in the wired internet side of the world. Both are pressing hard to deliver a gigabit of data each second to the home in the not-so-distant future.

NASA's Super Ball Bot Will Be Exploring The Surface Of TItan

Where the deployment of exploratory drones is concerned, one of the biggest challenges lies with getting a robot down to the surface of a planet or moon. NASA has come up with a rather novel solution: Super Ball Bot, a wire mesh, ball-shaped robot that can roll around of its own volition.

'Author Rank' Separating Small Business Bloggers vs Small Business Ghost Writers

While the blogosphere spawned thousands upon thousands of writers who in many instances lacked the opportunity to write for legacy publishers, ironically the major criticism levied against them came from those traditionalists. Anti-Snooping Apps For When Everybody's Watching You

When the rock group, The Eagles first penned their iconic top-forty hit, "New Kid in Town," with lyrics that spoke to: "talk on the street. . . everybody's watching you," the year was 1976, predating the Internet by almost two decades. While spot-on prescient as to what was to come, surely Don Henley, Glenn Frey or Joe Walsh couldn't have known the level of surveillance that's blanketed the world we NOW live in...

The box is glass on top and bottom, as well as three sides, so that you can see everything -- including straight down!

Woof To Wash: Laundry Machines Controlled By Dogs

Those of us with pets are aware that they live pretty cushy lives. They spend their days basking in the sun, chasing squirrels while out for walks, and barking when someone comes to the door. The average dog has few responsibilities - all we expect of them is to be semi-obedient and do their business outside. One company believes that dogs should play bigger roles when it comes to the maintenance of their households than simply licking fallen crumbs off the floor.

Money & Betrayal Play Key Roles In Silicon Valley Tomes

It appears when Ben Mezrich penned his tell-all book about the early beginnings of Facebook and included the bon mots "money" and "betrayal" in its title, he had paved a path for another to follow. After all if one social network could be launched on greed and deception, couldn't others? Good ole Machiavellian ethics may be as old as time, but it appears to be the common denominator for both...
