Video Gift Box

The Video Gift Box is a gift box for jewelry that captures a recording of the expression and happiness shown by a person receiving a jewelry gift--there is a small digital video camera that begins recording when the box is opened. This invention brought me to the final group of 24 for American Inventor 2006.

I think the camera should be hidden as much as possible otherwise they'll change reactions looking at it. Oh Wow this is... Whats that a camera?

I made the comment above before signing in. I'd also market this to the jewelry stores themselves to rent to wedding ring purchasers. No need to own this in every house.

I think the camera should be hidden if all you want to do is capture the receiver's reaction. However, if you're going to leave the camera that big, you might as well be able to show a recorded message from the sender on that monitor. When the person opens the box, the video starts and the person who sent the ring shows up on the screen with a message for the receiver.
