A Winning Design Tor The Primorksiy Zoological Park In St. Petersburg

Two architects from Beckmann N'Thépé and two designers from TN Plus have teamed up to create a winning design for Russia's new Primorskiy Zoological Park in Saint Petersburg.  The layout of the zoo is reminiscent of a Paleolithic Pangea, wherin each continent is represented throughout the zoo.

Could Increased Reliance On Biofuels Be More Detrimental To Our Health Than Global Warming?

Because biofuels redirect crops and land formerly used for food production to use in biofuel production, increased reliance on biofuels always results in increased food prices.  New projections indicate that the very efforts industrialized countries set in place to alleviate deaths and disease caused from global warming by increasing biofuel reliance could actually cause more deaths and disease than global warming itself.

NASA Tests New Biofuel Made With Chicken Fat

Research teams from NASA are experimenting with a new jet biofuel made from chicken fat.  The teams will compare emissions from operating with the new biofuel in its pure form, a 50-50 mixture of the new biofuel and traditional jet fuel, and pure traditional jet fuel.  The new biofuel is aligned with the U.S. military's goals of using 50 percent biofuel in their aircraft.

A new, ultra-thin, transparent film made of photovoltaic cells is said to power traditional phones using solar energy.  Wysips, a French tech compnay, presents this new technology, which can be applied to any cell phone without affecting its appearance or touch-screen capabilities.

New Study Shows Consumers Aren't Buying Into Faulty Green Claims

A new study shows that 71 percent of consumers will stop purchasing a product if they feel the company's claims about green-ness are misleading.  The study also looks at how much consumers really understand regarding environmental labeling, how such labeling affects consumers' purchasing choices, and how green-consciousness is surviving in this recession.

NRDC Joins Professional Sports Leagues To Launch The "Green Sports Alliance"

The National Resources Defense Council has joined forces with the MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA, WNBA, and MLS to form the Green Sports Alliance.  The GSA intends to reduce the carbon footprint of northwestern professional sports teams involved in the alliance.  Clearly, the NRDC understands the importance of utilizing highly influential groups to express the importance of green-ness.
