Marijuana might not be legal for general use in North America, but you would be surprised to learn just how big the marijuana industry is; and we’re talking about those that are operating legally and even paying taxes on their products and services.

The Blue Sky Coffee Shop, located in Oakland, California (also referred to in the pot industry as Oaksterdam) is one of these legal businesses in the marijuana industry, and it caters to those who have legal prescriptions to use the drugs for medical purposes. That being said, The Blue Sky Coffee Shop certainly makes the experience much more enjoyable than a typical visit to the pharmacy. For a start, there’s a doorman to ensure that only those with legal prescriptions can enter; but that being said, parents are also allowed to bring their children who can wait in the front area of the café and enjoy selections from the drug-free menu. Meanwhile, those in need of a little high get taken into the back area of the coffee shop where they can choose from the marijuana menu which offers flavors and varieties like Casey-Jones, Bubble Gum, Deep Chunk x Strawberry Cough, Hindu Skunk, Jack the Ripper, Purple Kush, Querkle and White Widow. Those with a valid prescription can also leave with a doggie bag; a weed plant of their own so they don’t need to return to the shop every time they need their fix.
The Blue Sky Coffee Shop isn’t the only business taking advantage of the legal marijuana trade, but we can only imagine the businesses that would (or will) popup if legalization comes to fruition.
