The German lighting design company, Benwirth Licht, has come up with a clever, modular design, which can make you unsure whether you’re looking at a lighting design or at a stove top with all its burners on.

Cluster+ combines LED and OLED technologies to bring you the best of both. While the LED output is more minute and centered, like a small spot light, the OLED is more like a flood light, spreadling light evenly on a whole area. Benwirth Licht likes how well they complement each other in one lighting design, but you can purchase the OLED and LED modules separately.
The range of lighting systems you can piece together from the Cluster+ system is nearly infinite, and if you do get confused by all your choices, or if puzzles aren’t your thing, Benwirth Licht has many suggestions for you, depending on whether you want to light your ceiling, walls, tables or desks.

Each Cluster is about five square inches and less than 1/8 of an inch thick. They can be fitted with 4 LEDs, which can be focused as well as dimmed, or 1 OLED, which can be dimmed together with the LEDs or independently.
Cluster+ won the Design Plus Award in 2010 and ‘Best of Best’ Interior Innovation Award, 2011.
