If you’re a budding inventor between the ages of five and twelve, with a desire to create the next “Clue” or “Monopoly,” we encourage you to throw your board game design into the ring for the National Young Game Inventors Contest!
The rules are simple: Create a functional and fun board game based on whatever you want*, and send it (Pieces, rules, tokens, board and all!) to NYGIC by October 1st, 2013. The creator of the coolest board game wins a $10,000 savings bond, a trip for four to San Francisco and the chance to have their game mass produced for everyone to enjoy.
Previous National Young Games Inventor winners have created a wide range of charming board games, including 9 year-old Lindsay Berstein’s “Rapunzel’s Revenge” in 2000, 7 year-old Mary Carville’s “The Great Jungle Adventure” in 1996, and 5 year-old Derek Nelson’s “Take a Hike.”
Alright kids, get your thinking caps on, and give the Parker Brothers a run for their money!
