Whether you’re concerned about home security or are just afraid of the dark, these Ghostbusters automatic night lights will put your mind at ease! That’s because they’re not “night lights” in the usual sense – they’re actually off most of the time.
Their time to shine comes when the built-in vibration sensor inside each 80 x 80 x 35mm (3.2” x 3.2” x 1.4”) acrylic plastic housing reacts to approaching footsteps or the unlocking/opening of a room door.
The light inside the device then turns on, allowing you to enter an illuminated space and get to the light switch within 8 seconds – at which time the light inside your Ghostbusters Night Light automatically turns itself off. The design might say “Ghostbusters” but the function shouts “Darkness-busters!”
Three different designs are available for the 1,220 yen (about $14.75, tax not included) asking price: the classic Ghostbusters icon, a similar version with added text reading “Do Not Enter, No Ghosts Allowed Beyond This Point”, and an annoyed-looking Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Ghostbusters Night Lights are powered by three AA batteries (not included) and are distributed by Nigiwai-Showten in Japan. They can be purchased online at the company’s store website at Rakuten.
