Universal will bring your horrible creation to life!
The Creature from the Black Lagoon
That’s right, Universal Studios is looking for someone to reimagine their crypt of retro monsters, creeps and ghoulies to put the fear into today’s creature feature fans. To get your vile creature into the contest, you’ll have to either illustrate the fiend with both a full body and portrait or describe the freak in a detailed one page essay. The new design absolutely cannot be based upon any previous character design from a book, movie, videogame, toy or any other piece of media- Universal is looking for 100% uniquely fresh and horrible brutes!

Here’s the entire mix of monsters up for reimagining:
Dracula/Male Vampire, Dracula’s Bride/Female Vampire, Renfield/Dracula’s Assistant, The Phantom of the Opera, The Mummy, The Wolfman, Werewolf, Ygor/Dr. Frankenstein’s Assistant, Dr. Frankenstein, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man.
But what do you get for reinventing one of these ghouls? Universal will reward the creator (And a friend!) of the most popular monster design by flying them out to Universal Studios California to enjoy 2013’s Halloween Horror Nights, as their remade monster terrorizes everyone at the EyeGore awards! (Note that the contest is only open to monster fans from the lower 48 States!)
