The 2013 Porada Furniture Design Award is challenging creative inventors and designers from around the world to reimagine the concept of a wooden table for a chance to earn big bucks!
The concept is pretty open ended for this one folks: Create an original wood-based table design (dining table, console, low table, living table, gaming table, side table, etc.), while keeping in mind that the creation should be environmentally sustainable, ergonomic and would comply with worldwide safety standards. You are encouraged to include glass, metal and other accents into your table, as long as your table is mostly solid wood, so feel free to experiment with its design.
If you’re already a professional creating and pushing the boundaries of modern furniture, the Porada Furniture Design Award would give you a huge award to showcase in your portfolio, along with a nice cash prize for the first (£3,000/$4,104 USD), second (£2,000/$2,736 USD), and third (£1,000/$1,368 USD) place winners. Note that there is a separate Porada table design contest for student inventors too!
To include your futuristic table into the mix, send the Porada Team a .pdf file detailing your creation (under 3,000 characters) along with a trio of .pdf files containing the following contents to [email protected] :
•Table 1: An overview, scenarios and terms of use, rendering, general concept of the object.
•Table 2: Technical drawings: plans elevations, sections, isometric views and construction details.
•Table 3: Representation of the object, renderings, picture of the model.
