There are so many fun things about the holidays and when you are a kid the excitement is multiplied by about a million. It is hard to imagine anything kicking that enthusiasm up another notch, but I am pretty sure that the life-sized, edible gingerbread house at Neiman Marcus would do it. Priced at $15,000, it is likely the most expensive gingerbread house you have ever seen and is completely out of reach for the vast majority of us, but it would definitely be something to see. Imagine a kid waking up to that on Christmas morning.
Made by Dylan’s Candy Bar, the house is constructed of 381 lbs of gingerbread and 517 lbs of royal icing. It stands 6.6 feet high x 5.25 feet wide x 4.1 feet deep, so it has plenty of space to accommodate several kids (or adults) at one time. In fact they may never come back out! It is, of course, covered in giant cookies, lollipops, gummies, gumdrops and mints. Apparently the interior also features a tree made of lollipops.
Forget the kids, I want one of these! Considering it costs more than my car did though, I won’t hold my breath.
