It seems like practically everything has Bluetooth capabilities these days, but there is one place the technology hasn’t hit yet- your mouth. That is, until now. Get ready; coming soon to a mouth near you is the Kolibree Bluetooth Toothbrush. Making its big debut at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Kolibree toothbrush is a pretty hi-tech oral hygiene device.
Created by a French company, the Kolibree toothbrush is poised to improve the way you (and, yes, your kids) brush. The toothbrush is designed to sense all kinds of details about how you’re brushing, including how long you brush, how well you brush and areas you may need to give more attention to.
It sends all of this handy info to your iPhone or Android so that you’re able to view your performance and make brushing adjustments accordingly. The app can even track several toothbrushes at a time so that families can see how everyone is doing. It gives encouragement by letting you know how your brushing is progressing. It’s like having a dentist inside your mouth, analyzing your every brushing move. Fun! In the not so distant future, kids may never again be able to lie to their parents about having brushed their teeth.
Not surprisingly, the Kolibree won’t be selling for typical toothbrush prices. When it launches in the US sometime this summer, it’s expected to be priced between $99 and $199, depending on the version you want to purchase.
