The Thrive M-8000 massage vest looks a little like a life preserver and feels like the seat of a luxury car. Sounds tempting, hmm? And that’s before you even turn it on. Flip the ON switch and a pair of vibrating balls go to work on your aching muscles, whichever and wherever those muscles might be.
Labeled as an "electric massager for household use" (where have we heard that one before?), the M-8000 features a tough but flexible exterior made from synthetic leather and ABS plastic. It’s heavy – about 3.8kg (8.4 lbs) – so wearing it vest-style is reminiscent of those lead-lined blankets that get draped on you before getting a dental x-ray.
Plug in the 2 meter (6 ft) long power cord to the nearest 100-volt AC outlet (if you’re not in Japan, you’ll need a LONG extension cord) and GET READY TO RUMBLE! A built-in auto timer ensures the massaging action stops after a maximum of 15 minutes so you don’t wake up the next morning looking like The Blob.
