With the very-limited edition Baja 700, Shelby American picks up where Ford’s impressive SVT Raptor leaves off. Indeed, this is one pickup with plenty of pick-up to go around courtesy of 700 supercharged horses harnessed beneath the boss Baja’s silver-striped hood!
Not that the 411-horsepower SVT Raptor can’t hold its own in impromptu stoplight derbies, mind you, but just imagine upping that output by just over 40 percent – and adding the requisite mechanical upgrades required to tame all those additional ponies.
Now there’s no need to use your imagination though you’ll have to act fast; only fifty 2015 Shelby Baja 700’s will roll off of Shelby American’s production line in Paradise, Nevada. Each one will be equipped with a 2.9 liter Whipple supercharger, enlarged throttle bodies and fuel injectors, an improved heat exchanger, and a custom Borla exhaust system.
Non-performance features include an all-new Rogue Racing suspension, 18” Custom Fuel wheels shod with Baja-proven BFGoodrich K02 35×12.5×18” tires, and a classic Shelby striping package.
